My Sweet Lies

I horde good thoughts

and memories

and hide them from the world

I stuff them between pages

and tell them

everythings okay

Cram happy days into

my skull

and house them

for safekeeping

Rip the sun from the sky

and inject it

straight into my sluggish slug veins

Oh but my eyes

are the biggest thieves of all

They take in all they see

and paint happy tooth numbing lies

into my dry withered soul
