my foe

They play on a loop in a daily matinee,
Stab without warning, pierce your defenses
Memories vivid and dark play endlessly
Searching in vain for a different ending,
All the while knowing it'll never change
What's done is done, but still you try
Torturing yourself with what-if this and that's
Should haves, could haves, why not's?
Pointless and useless and corrosive
All stops on your journey to insane

Once again, a poem I can really relate with. Fantastic work.
