I'm from the city

Big buildings, bright lights

He was from an island

Where planes land on the beach

It was easy to be with him

He took me for who I was

He showed me the islands

We drove, we shared moments

In the stillness of an abandoned croft house

Standing on the hill at Carloway Broch

Walking over the moors, along the beaches

Hand in hand, side by side

I remember his smiles

As we sat, walked, talked, kissed

I remember his gentle touch

If I'd taken the chance with him

Looking back now

That was always my type

It took me half a lifetime

to realise what I want

Is toil leam uisge-beatha

Is toil leam bodach

Is toil leam pogadh

Bu toil leam sin
