I swore that I would never fall in love.

Hi, my name is Roy, and both of my parents died at the hands of the Death Rose. After the Death Rose killed my parents, I found an organization that fights crime called the Resistance, and I decided to join. Anyway, after I joined the Resistance, nobody heard from the Death Rose… until now. Two weeks ago, the Death Rose finally came out of hiding, and she is really powerful. Debby, the organization’s brains, just finished working on a time-traveling machine, and our best bet right now is to go back in time and defeat the Death Rose before she becomes really powerful and unstoppable. Since the time machine is brand new and not properly tested, many things could go wrong, but we had to take the risk. I volunteered to go because I realized that this is the perfect chance to get revenge on the Death Rose for killing my parents. After two weeks, I was ready to go. I got to the time machine. I said goodbye to everyone, stepped into the time machine and took a deep breath, and pressed go. The time machine started to shake, and I began to fall. I hit the floor with a thud, and everything went dark.

I woke up in my bed with a massive headache. I tried to remember what happened yesterday, but I couldn’t remember anything. My mind was blank except for four words, “kill the Death Rose,” and a picture of a girl which I assumed was the Death Rose, and when a guy wakes up with no memory except for four words, he must have a pretty good reason for wanting her gone.  I stood up and left the room to go look for the Death Rose. When I got downstairs, two adults jumped out from behind the sofa holding a pancake tower with 16 candles lit.

“Happy 16th Birthday Roy!”

“Took you long enough to come downstairs. We were hiding there forever.” said the man that I assumed was my father. “Oh, stop it, you know how Roy loves to sleep in,” said the woman who must be my Mother. “Now make a wish and blow out the candles.”

I closed my eyes and wished that I would find the Death Rose and kill her. I took a deep breath and blew out the candles. My parents gave me a lot of presents, but my favorite one was the facial recognition glasses. Those would help when I went looking for her. After my birthday breakfast, I put on the glasses and took the hovering hoverboard that I also got for my birthday, and set out to find her. My plan was to find her and befriend her so then after she trusted me, I could stab her in the back. Literally. I started to search, I searched and searched, but I couldn’t find her anywhere. Finally, when I was starting to give up, my glasses started to beep. Really loudly. I quickly shut them off, but I had a smirk on my face. I finally found her. I set my hovering hoverboard down and walked up to her. She was playing with a puppy. “Hi, my name is Roy, and I absolutely love dogs. What’s your name” she turned around and gave me a small smile. She was as beautiful as a rose. My insides turned warm and fuzzy, and my heart started to speed up. I knew these symptoms. I had them once before. There was no denying it. I was in love.
