Going Underground

Don’t look now,

I’m digging a hole,

big enough to swallow me

whole.

I’ve had enough of topside,

the pressure and pain,

I’m burying myself alive,

you won’t see me again.

I’m not going to die,

won’t choke on the soil,

but I’m living a life

you will not spoil -

going chthonic.

The fine imagery you create with your poetry continues to flourish in greater and greater depth every time I read you. I can only marvel at your poetic quality - and those strange "I dare you to tell me what I mean" words you infuse into your work!
Pure magic.

Haha! Thanks, HJ. I honestly try to put a lot of my own feelings into poems, but often they are far from being the obvious.
