My Doppelganger

There’s a familiarity

about the figure

approaching

but I can’t work it out

until she stops.

A mirror image of me -

apart from the confidence,

the self-assurance.

And the hunger too.

I can’t look away,

can’t break the stare

and am devoured by the eyes of

my doppelganger.

Is the image in the mirror the one you wish to be?

An interesting idea, 88. Truth is I avoid mirrors as much as possible. Thanks so much for reading.
