A recap of Last night's Montreal/Toronto Game One

John Tavares on the stretcher.

It was a scary moment for the Toronto Maple Leafs last night as the team watched their Captain, John Tavares being carried off on a stretcher.

Tavares was accidently hit in the head by Montreal's Corey Perry's knee mid-way through the first period last night.

"it is a big loss," said Leaf's head coach, Sheldon Keefe about Tavares, after his team lost the first game of the first-round series 2-1 last night.

Josh Anderson opened the scoring for Montreal at 12:08 of the first period.

William Nylander tied the game at 4:28 0of the second period.

Paul Byron scored a short-handed goal at 12:44 of the third period to eventually win the game for Montreal.

Montreal's goalie, Carey Price stopped 36 shots.

Toronto's goalie, Jack Campball stopped 30 shots last night.

Game Two of the series is tomorrow night.
