Some Americans have forgotten

They say they were born in America,

But have forgotten what made it great

 

The freedom to think what you want,

Be what you want, and live how you want

 

Scream about rights, don’t tread on me,

Yet trample on ours without thought or care

 

Rights perverted, subverted, converted

Into a weapon to scythe down truth

 

The shining city on a hill is no more,

Forgot we all came from somewhere else

 

Now want walls built to keep others out

The American dream turned nightmare

 

 

Founding fathers wisdom ignored

Two hundred forty five years gone

 

Backs turned on lessons learned,

Eyes turned away from reality

 

The return of superstitions and fears

Education now mocked as the cause

 

Not the cure; the new dark age is here

And our nation cries for what we’ve lost
