Love is acceptance of life. Death is acceptance of faith. It is the simplicity of the human spirit to crave, seek and obtain that which we admire and love, and to believe and trust in the promises of faith. Like water and air, love and death nurture and sustain the heart and soul of man and all that surrounds and abounds.

LOVE AND DEATH

Al Garcia

Love is acceptance of life.  Death is acceptance of faith.  It is the simplicity of the human spirit to crave, seek and obtain that which we admire and love, and to believe and trust in the promises of faith.  Like water and air, love and death nurture and sustain the heart and soul of man and all that surrounds and abounds.

Love is complicated in all aspects and forms, ever changing and evolving, while death is guileless, effortless and unchanging.  Love builds castles and rainbows in the sky, while death destroys and betrays dreams and promises of things that could have been.

Love and death so different and so opposite, yet alike in many ways.  Both require faith.  For to love is to believe and to accept.  And like love, death too requires belief and acceptance.  Each comes in many forms, each can be spontaneous and unprompted, and each changes the course of those it touches.  So alike and so different.  The feelings and memories of love or death can last a lifetime or fade and wither with passing time.

To have experienced love and to be devasted by someone’s death is to have felt the glory and the anguish, the calm and the fury, the passion and the fear that comes with the frailty of our beating hearts and burning souls.

There is Love and there is death – and in between we are but shadows in the night moving silently toward the light and toward the beginning of all that is and was and will forever be.
