A recap of last night's Montreal/Toronto Game Two.

Toronto bounced back in a big way from the 2-1 loss in Game One as the Maple Leafs defeated the Montreal Canadiens 5-1 last night.

'I was really pleased to see us get rewarded," said Leaf's head coach, Sheldon Keefe, at the postgame press conference.

The Leafs played a solid game.

Toronto stopped the Montreal offence by good forechecking and backchecking.

It didn't start out good for the Leafs as Jesperi Kotkaniemi scored at 7:57 of the first period.

Jason Spezza tied the game at 12:25.

At 5:15 of the second period, Auston Matthews scored to put the Leafs up 2-1.

Matthews had a three point night.

Keefe said that Matthews had a complete game last night.

At 13:20, Rasmus Sandin scored a power play goal to make it 3-1 Leafs.

William Nylander scored a power play goal at 8:50 of the third period.

Alex Kerfoot added a empty netter at 18:37.

The series continues in Montreal tomorrow night.
