Atop lies the lustrous fuchsia

beneath lies the tranquil cerulean

in the middle lies the roaring lilac

which binds us all together

like an unspoken likeness

between wandering strangers

We get called things

We receive “labels”

“Greedy”

“Confused”

“Selfish”

From people with nothing

better to do

From simpletons whose denotations

of love

are about as minuscule as their minds

But the truest of us know,

a knife cuts both ways

and so does love.
