This is a really quick and random sonnet I decided to write one time. It was probably 5 years ago when I wrote it

Blood drips down the window frame

As many people cry in pain

Their songs of anguish fill my heart

All once so light but went so dark

I turn around and walk to the door

And I step over many bodies littering the floor

As I step outside a bullet flies

And I hear the sound of many war cries

Gun in my hand I run across the field

Its times like these I wish we were allowed a shield

When dawn breaks it starts to rain

And I feel my chest burning with pain

I fall to the ground and look to the sky

I feel like the end is pretty close by
