A recap of last night's Toronto/New York Yankees Game One.

The Toronto Blue Jays ended their six game losing streak last night in New York, defeating the Yankees 6-2.

Vladmir Guerrero Jr, put the Jays up 2-0 at the top of the third inning with a two run shot over the fence.

The next inning, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit a solo home run to put Toronto ahead 3-0.

The Jays went ahead 5-0 at the top of the seventh inning when Randal Grichuk and Rowdy Tellez scored on a throwing error.

New York finally got on the score board in the bottom of the seventh when Kyle Higasioka drove in Clint Frazier with a single.

At the top of the ninth inning, Grichuk hit a solo home run.

In the bottom of the ninth, Higasioka drove in Rougned Odor with a double, but that's all.

Vladmir Guerrero is swinging the big bat lately.

Guerrero Jr went two for four at the plate and had two RBIs.

Jay's manager, Charlie Montoyo has been really impressed with Guerrero Jr.'s hitting lately.

"He's, (Guerrero Jr.), been great," said Montoyo at last night's postgame press conference.

Jay's starting pitcher, Steven Matz went 6.2 innings, allowing six hits, an earned run, no walks, and struck out 10 batters.

Higasioka went two for four at the plate and had a RBI.

Yankee's starting pitcher, Corey Kluber, went three innings, allowing two hits, two earned, three walks and struck out five batters.

Game Two is tonight.
