AND THE COWARDS KEEP SILENT

By Al Garcia

The Republican leaders of Congress made statements heard here at home and around the world.  It was a statement solidifying their lack of character, morality and most of all intellect and patriotism.  It was stupefying in every way, and yet in keeping with their constant desire to showcase their ignorance, arrogance, and total disregard for our nation.

Directing their comments to a stunned audience, Republican leaders basically said that they did not want to know the who, what or why of the January 6th insurrection that almost overthrew our nation.  There was no Republican interest in setting up a commission to unravel, unveil and expose the truth of January 6th.  McConnel so much as said, that the “truth” or “findings” of such an undertaking could and would be used against the Republicans their ex-President.  They know what happened.  They saw what happened.  They lived what happened.  Now, they are afraid to admit what happened.

And so, America continues is decline and fall from grace, while the world watches in utter silence and astonishment, and too many Americans stick their heads deeper into the sand.  Nothing shocks Americans any more.  The reality of having cretins and lamebrains in our Congress is now an accepted part of our daily lives.

There is a base that rejoices at very word and every inaction, and every act of obstruction that emanates from their demented and delusional minds of their Republican leaders. The Republican Party, once an American institution of values, principles, morals and character, now a voiceless and unrecognizable caricature of who and what it once had been.

And today, when Americans should stand up and denounce the deplorable conduct and words of bigotry, hate, and insurrection, Republicans and counterfeit Christians alike, hide beneath the dark shadows of our history – and the cowards keep silent.

But the deaf and dumb, Republicans and pseudo-Christians who wear red caps and shout obscenities at our press and at our patriotic leaders, still want to lock everyone up that does not conform or kowtow to their distorted views, while the indifference and silence of those of us still clinging to the virtues, principles and morals of our true American roots, only further solidifies their hate, bigotry, animosity and division that they have so purposefully and deliberately fomented in the hearts and minds of a weak and fragile segment of our America.  And, like weeds in a vacant field, their rhetoric, pomposity and delusional arrogance of a hate-filled heart continues to spread and unfurl its tentacles, and continues to feed on the dormant and festering animosity and hostility that dwells in the human soul of their base.

And the cowards keep silent as the nation dissolves into the abyss of the chaos of tyranny. And the cowards keep silent as the deplorables speak, and the world listens, watches and waits, while America continues to fall into the chasm of history.  Deny.  Distort.  Obstruct.  Overturn. Overthrow.  Now the only Republican ideas.  And, more tragically, they intend to do it at any cost.

And the cowards kept silent . . .
