Is here

What's gone horribly wrong in our county, within ourselves?
Mass hypnosis on a nation wide scale has befallen some
Misguided belief is a locust plague ravaging the plains,
A new dust bowl where nothing can grow but delusion
A bitter harvest of resentment, anger, blame, and self-pity
People asking the poison question 'what's in it for me?'
Not, 'what can I do to help?' Selfishness is off the charts
Jealousy disguised as knowledge, their promise land messiah
Breaks every commandment, yet they love and worship him still,
Blindly carry out his wishes without question, sense or not,
Cling to him like soldiers to a king, blindly pledge devotion,
Loyal to him and no other, certainly not our country
Democratically rejected, but he's not gone far enough away
And he's vowing to return, and some will open the door
I can't and never will understand what has become of us
Or the mindset that made a void of humanity like him possible
