There is a certain feeling

That wells up from deep within me

When I'm about to go somewhere familiar

It's a knowing in my Soul

That no matter what the weather

Or the shitty company tagging along

I can get through it for a weekend

B'cuz I'm going home

It's comfortable there

There is no need to stand on ceremony

The hummingbird that flew by

Appearing to stop mid-flight

For a second it felt like everything

Was in slow motion

The smell of the camp fire

Sounds of laughter

Happy conversations

Guests depart on canoe trips into the fog

The gentle rain mist instantly turns my

Wild red hair into kinky and crazy curls

The sound of music is playing in the park

As I look over in that direction

People are swaying to the beat

Two jet skiers race out onto the lake

I could watch them do tricks for hours

As I smell the rain & the morning dew

A wee chipmunk visits

A black squirrel drops by

As I drink coffee with Bailey's from a cup

While sitting in my lime green Muskoka chair

In a small northern town

I watch the waves gently lap at the shore

Mosquitoes are swirling about now

Looking for an untouched area of

Virgin Toronto skin to draw blood from

Neon blue socks keep my feet warm

In my black Puma flip flops

I don't care

I'm not here to impress anyone

I'm here looking at real estate

B'cuz that's what's allowed, says Doug Ford

At this time in the current lockdown

So, here I am, enjoying the grey sky evening

Overlooking Lake Bernard

While I plot my next move
