Rodeo Rider

A Freestyle Poem

Our eyes meet --

there is a sparkle there

an intrigue there, and yet --

I can’t talk to him or

try to get to know him.

I realize we have foreign lives.

How far could IT go?

NOWHERE is the answer I have in my head

And yet --

I try to reach for similarities

hoping for grounds to continue

this infatuation of the unknown.

A lonely cowboy following me

like a saddled horse with no rider.

Intrigued, but absent of familiarities

which normally would connect us.

I won’t touch this--

But congratulate him on his ride

And walk away into the sunset.
