Resting, she thought back to when her arduous journey began. To a time when, as a little girl, she embarked on the path that would lead her to this place. There were moments that made her question her choice of the path she chose. Many times, she considered giving up but the knowledge that there was no going back forced her to move forward. Along her long journey, there were strangers she met who became friends, then later became strangers again. At times their paths converged but for the most part remained divergent. Storms and inclement situations were weathered that built a fierce determination in her character that was looked upon by some as a trait more suited to men. She knew in her heart that she had earned the respect of others, but more importantly, of herself. She had no need to apologize for the strong woman she had become. Her mind went back to the husband she had lost and the children that had taken paths of their own. No, she thought, this journey would be mine to make alone. She had heard from others that moving forward, the path would test her resolve, both physically and mentally. When asked, no one could tell her how or when her journey would end. She accepted  the truth that her destination would reveal itself in its own time and would not be of her chosing. So she steeled her resolve to reach her trails end with grace, dignity and no regrets for picking the path that she did; the path that created the woman she was. With that knowledge, she stood up and proudly forged on into the unknown.
