Shouting.

Someone was shouting.

The floor rumbled.

Clay and Nurse Joy were pulling me. Emboar appeared, easily picking me up.

The world spun around me as Emboar leaped, flying through the air. Emboar landed on the pavement. The frigate slowly descending behind us.

The frigate landed near the Mistralton gym. Several people were nearby, I spotted Alder as Emboar set me down.

"Alder!" Clay called out, climbing out of the frigate. He shoved Colress to the ground. Alder picked up Thundurus' Pokeball, frowning.

Skyla and Clay approached him.

Mistralton was ravaged. Most houses were on fire. The poke mart was destroyed. The gym was mostly fine.

The pokemon center had a hole in it. Alder addressed the gathered people.

"Round Neo Plasma up!" Trainers rounded up Colress, Zinzolin, and the rest of their grunts. Alder singled out Colress.

"What did you do to Thundurus?" Colress, for a moment, said nothing. I spotted Cheren in the crowd and approached him.

"I awoke its deep potential," Colress said. "It's stronger than—"

"You've done irreparable damage to this city and Thundurus." Colress avoided Alder's gaze. "I've freed your hostages in Chargestone cave." Zinzolin stepped forward.

"You cannot stop the change!" He exclaimed. Alder crossed his arms. "Ghetsis will overturn your worthless society!"

Zinzolin laughed on for a few moments before Alder turned away. Skyla started yelling at Colress and Zinzolin.

Clay hung back, speaking with Nurse Joy. Alder nodded at Cheren and walked away.

"I heard Bianca and Kenya were looking for you," Cheren said.

I spotted a member of the shadow triad near the airport. They vanished.

Juniper was there, walking away from the airport. She waved at me.

"Yeah, I haven't seen them in a while." Juniper approached us as the crowd slowly scattered.

"Hey boys, how are you doing?" She grinned.

"Hey, professor." Cheren nudged me towards her.

"Andrew." Her green eyes landed on me. "I see you've been busy," she said.

Emboar grunted. She led us towards Chargestone cave, talking about a recent discovery. I was in a daze.

Cheren made a few remarks, elbowing me when Juniper asked me something. I returned Emboar.

"Hey!" Ron came running after us. "Andrew!" Juniper glanced at him, past him at Colress and Zinzolin.

Clay was speaking with them. Bronius had also appeared, speaking. Juniper's face seemed to tense up.

"Do I know you?" Cheren spoke up.

"I'm Ron." Ron offered Cheren a handshake, Cheren ignored it. "I'm friends with Andrew."

"You are?" I asked. Ron's sudden appearance reminded me of Cerea. I scanned the crowd for her. She was sitting outside of the pokemon center, alone.

"What do you mean?" Ron folded his arms. "We've been friends for months!" I blinked.

"Professor Juniper!" Mary ran over, yelling.

"Oh. Mary, right?" Juniper smiled. Cheren gave me a sidelong look. Ron patted me on the shoulder.

"I'll see you around, I guess." Ron nodded and walked away.

"I have no clue who that is," I said. Cheren laughed dryly.

We waited for Juniper to finish chatting with Mary. Mary was telling her about the Nimbasa tournament.

After a few minutes, Juniper bid Mary farewell. The three of us approached Chargestone cave. Juniper complimented Cheren's victory in Nimbasa.

"Andrew did pretty well, too," Cheren commented.

"He did."

"What did you want to talk about?" I asked. Juniper shrugged.

"I just wanted to check up with you," she said. "What will you do now?"

"Return to Driftveil, I guess." I glanced at Clay. "I still have to battle Clay." Juniper smiled before leaving into Chargestone. Ceren and I shared a look.

"You good?" Cheren asked. I sighed, wiping my eyes.

"I don't know." He looked at me hard for a moment.

"Well, I'm gonna stay here a while. See if I can battle Skyla."

"Bye." Cheren walked away, meeting Cerea as he approached. They exchanged a few words before Cerea waved at me. I waved back before walking into Chargestone cave.

The cave was filled with glowing blue rocks. I wandered around, poking at rocks. It was almost an hour before I found the exit to route 6.

I followed route 6 to Driftveil. Unlike my last visit, it was packed with people. I was approaching the pokemon center when someone shouted.

"Hey!" Kenya appeared, running down a street. Bianca was on her heels, waving. I lingered outside of the pokemon center as Kenya ran over.

"Where have you been?" Bianca asked. Kenya pulled me into a hug. Bianca joined her, patting me on the back.

"Hey, guys."

Kenya kept hugging me for a while, going quiet. Bianca smiled sadly.

"We were worried, you know." The sun was getting low. Kenya told me about the time she spent in Driftveil.

We went to the pokemon center. Kenya was hesitant to leave me alone in my room but eventually, she caved.

I sat down on my bed, digging around through my bag.

The orb was there. I gazed down at it for a moment before tossing the bag aside.

I slipped under the covers, letting sleep finally take me.
