Waiting for me in the darkness

Lies the circumstance of sin

Chased by ghosts of retribution

Feel your presence on the wind

Searching for a resolution

Driving down a lonely street

Running from my guilty conscience

Haunted by your memory

Separated in an instant

Burdened by an endless shame

Bound forever to a moment

Lost inside a static time

Overwhelmed by scattered moments

Fighting with my broken mind

Overcome by desperation

I let go and close my eyes

Speeding quickly to extinction

Waiting for the pain to end

When the music turns to white noise

And my engine oddly dies

Motionless and breathing heavy

Wondering how I’m alive

Suddenly I hear your whisper

Telling me I must survive
