A pen in hand

yet no words to come.

My truest love

forever holds me at bay,

behind ellipses and

too pregnant pauses.

A heart wrung dry

can only give so much.

So on this comma I lay

Soggy, used, very much abused.

All for the push of a pen

Who’s time is quickly running out.
