Sometimes, just sometimes

Idiot Savant

Sometimes I think

I’m an idiot savant

With no social skills

Just a gift for written verse

Wondering if others see it

As they’re experiencing their own thrills

While my humiliation couldn’t be any worse

I stack one word upon another

To mark the passage of time

Feeding on my loneliness

My dreams turn to dust

Appreciating life’s varied beauty

I am unfortunate and unblessed

Walking not the path I want but the one I must
