ou always lended your hand

Yet you left me alone on this land

“Drowning” in quicksand

The more i ask why

The more i cry

The more i wish to die

I wish upon a star

That we can just meet at a bar

That you weren't that far

I wish God could see

See that you were everything to me

And see that  i am paying the fee

Here i am grieving

Yet wishing i was also leaving

Although my looks may be deceiving!

I liked your poem, tearsoveryears. This is a poem where fewer words give more emotions. Structurally it sits well with me with lines grouped in threes and sixes.

If you want to take a look at my next poem, 'For why this sudden rush of green?' I'd be very happy to hear your thoughts.

Keep writing and enjoy your poems!
