Daydreamer!

Big Canoe

I saw you and I wished awhile that you might be the one

To finally take me by the hand, to guide me to the sun

Through endless milkweed meadows and forests damp with dew

We traveled beneath a starry sky in search of a big canoe

We paddled on to our hearts' content, the moon as our light above

Nothing meant more as the two combined to form unbreakable love

We paddled down the river of dreams and into a golden bay

Where beams of sunshine warmed our souls, melting our cares away

There on the distant tree-lined shore, it lifted its great brown head

Peeking through twisted twigs and vines, awakened from its bed

It turned in wonder, stomped and paused, then after a fleeting glance

The King of Bucks gave a final snort, approving our new romance

That was just a passing thought as I gazed in your heavenly eyes

I never could be that lucky in love to behold such a precious prize

But isn't it nice to stop and think what a night could have in store?

If only life were that simple to live, then we could not ask for more
