A poem about a couple

Music Playing: Hideaway (piano cover) by Erica Risti

He recalls her still
Remembering the little moments
Snapshots of their life

Once together

She had her reasons why
What was once his was hers
What was once hers was his

He asked her reasons
She was the one he loved
So dearly

She was the one
Had always been the one

She loved him, too
It was a bit of fun
Things passed them by

It was a conversation
A beginning of the end
It was a long talk

She loved him enough
To have this conversation
Someone was leaving

And someone was letting go

They won’t understand
He knew this and she had known it, too
They were together

Now, one had left

She recalls him still
Remembering the little moments
Snapshots of their life

Once together

He asked her reasons why
And she had her reasons
What was once hers was his

And what was his was hers

Perhaps, they’ll give it another go
But, for right now, someone had left
And someone let go

Even if no one else could understand
