Need something to distract you from the world outside? Well get lost within the storm inside your mind........

I sat there quietly in the dark,

Watching the lightening from your storm,

As the tears fell like raindrops on my soul,

Filling the river of my mind.

Walking on the bank alone,

Wondering why the thunder was calling my name,

Fighting with the  invisible voices of the past,

Who were always there when you weren't.

Heading towards the woods downriver,

Into the eye of the storm,

Seeking refuge from myself,

Finding nothing but the ground falling from beneath me.

Falling, into everlasting darkness,

Staring into the abyss of lies and deciet,

Knowing not what to do,

Clawing at nothing, Letting myself down.

Through the tough times it was there,

Lingering off in the distance, just out of arms reach,

Taunting, pulling me closer,

Making me feel the light is worth the storm.

I came to learn that paradise is just an illusion,

A mirage of the mind,

To make you hope,

There's more waiting than just the cliff below.

Beautiful metaphors. I can relate to a lot of this, and know all to well what it is like to have a storm in your mind.
This was at times dark, but a pleasure to read.
