HEART AND SOUL

By Al Garcia

We begin our lives with a fully formed heart, but only an outline of our soul.

The heart ignites our very being.  It inflames our passions and our sorrows.

It exposes our joy, sadness, envy, pride and even lust.  It enriches, and it deceives, without logic or sense at times, while the soul, once simply just an outline, is carefully and willfully filled with unfettered notions and emotions that can contradict the heart.

Each unspoken thought, the most personal of prayers, a part of the mosaic that shapes and molds the character and the contours of the soul.

And in the end, you are your own creation.  For the soul is yours to fill with all that you have seen, all that you have heard, and all that you have felt.

And only you can see the final creation, while others can only see the product of your heart.

What about the programming? Most humans operate on a set of programs that were given to them in their formative years, then unconsciously or consciously reinforced by the echo chamber that they didn’t realize was limited? Almost like a fish in the water thinking that’s the whole world.
