THINK THE IMPOSSIBLE

By Al Garcia

Think the impossible.  Do the improbable.

It is ingrained in us to discover the secrets of creation.  To solve the mysteries of the ages.  To capture the beauty of a smile on a stretched-out canvas, or the sensuality of the human form, in a slab of white marble, all to withstand the ravages and ordeals of time.

We are the masters of design and invention.  But also, within the contours of the structure that upholds us, lives the enraged and incensed creature that consumes the very essence of existence, as if by destiny ordained.

For all that man creates, another man destroys.

For all that man may dream, another man derides and scorns.

We created the beauty that surrounds us, and the horrors that astound us.

We are the epitome of the impossible and the improbable, in a universe among worlds yet undiscovered.

But it is impossible, and most improbable, that what beauty we possess will likely never endure the horrors, the hatred, or contempt, that man will eventually impose upon his fellow man.
