Oh please

let me be first place

oh please

let me be perfect

Among numerous situations

we please for more than any we can count of

though only a few of them do succeed

in the time when you say please

just put that please in your heart and move on

don't hesitate

for no one is never perfect

we all have our flaws deep

like the shells in a deep blue sea

but when someone kneels down and

gives you the chance

and the situation just appears to be perfect

you can please again

for there is enough sunlight for you then

so only please when you are ready

when you've done all that you could

and you don't really care how it turns out because you know

that you've done more than enough

you know that although you might not be first place,

you're still a shooting star

you're still a glowing pearl

you're still a cat bright even at night

Juicyberry I love your poem! You are right to counsel us to abstain from pleasing other people but to listen to the desire within us pleading for existence.

I loved the stanza when you advise us to wait for our 'someone' who kneels before us. It reminded me of a good mother securing the friendship of her child or a teacher gaining the trust of a pupil.

I see from your profile that you are open to read requests. I would like to read your thoughts on 'For why this sudden rush of green?'

Your poem ends entreating us to respect the charisma within each individual. These are the thoughts of a wonderful teacher or mother(or father) or both!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked my poem.
Right now I am in my final exam period. I will read 'For why this sudden rush of green?' soon and leave a comment. Again, thank you!
