I wasn't expecting you

But you emerged like a tiny flower

Your presence shifting my soul

A mix of feelings and emotions

Mostly because I was afraid

I sat with my hands rested against my belly

Envisioning your curious eyes

And tiny toes

Love unfolded with me

Eagerly I crammed my head with knowledge

In hopes that I wouldn't fail you

Acclimating to a new way of life

One in which I was your mother

Browken by your untimely exit

I held you in my bloody hand

Evidence of your brief existence

A tiny fragment carved from love

You must have know I wasn't good enough for you
