How many times did I forget to say “I love you”? How many times did I forget to hug you? How many times did I take you for granted? How many times did I assume you would be with me forever?

NO REGRETS

By Al Garcia

How many times did I forget to say “I love you”?  How many times did I forget to hug you?  How many times did I take you for granted?  How many times did I assume you would be with me forever?

My life is full of mistakes and regrets.  My life did not come with a user’s manual on how to act or react.  Life is spontaneous, impulsive, instinctive, and most certainly, unrehearsed.  We learn as we go, some better than others, I presume.  But the one thing we all have in common are mistakes and regrets.

And, it usually occurs when it is simply too late, that we realize our mistakes, and our regrets.  How do you say “I’m sorry,” to someone that’s walked away?  How do you say “I love you,” when that special someone no longer cares?  How do you hug someone after they are gone forever?  Regrets most times, are not relivable or redoable.  The one moment in time that you can not take back, or simply redo, and the one moment that can never be recaptured or redone -- a regrettable moment.

Life has taught me many things.  Of those, one was the hardest.  That one was to learn the hard way to say what we feel, and feel what we say – to mean it, and then live it.

That is the only way to live life – fully, openly, and with no regrets.
