Selena Carlino just moved into the neighborhood of Hollywood Hills from metropolitan Canada with the help of her cousin pulling her out of a hopeless situation. Looking to make it big, she focused on landing that one audition which made her a household name. Ignoring the failures of her past, save a disastrous injury that set her dreams of being a national figure skater back into the abyss of failed attempts, she focused on trying to rebuild her future the best she could. The obnoxious romance writer next door drawing in paparazzi could take a hike for all she cared. Distractions were what got her into messes and she planned to avoid the English heartthrob by any means. Luckily for her, plans change fast in the city of dreams.

Writer Nickolas Conway was one of the most widely known romance novelists in the country, not to mention, Southern California's most eligible bachelors, which he preferred. He was scouting for the next big idea for his new book, thinking lightning in a bottle could strike twice. Fresh after having won the young author's award for "Best New Artist," Nickolas only felt the pressure building as his literary agents and fans were begging him for a new manuscript. His irate, extremely flustered Canadian neighbor might be exactly what he needed to move forward with his next project. If only he kept his feelings out of it, he could make it out alive. But he was never one to ignore the call of his heart, especially when it was the driving force behind his writing.
