I’ve always been afraid of mirrors. Their reflections. Their objectivity. Mirrors show everything about people. They show them my biggest insecurity. Some people say that the outside doesn’t matter. I disagree. Our outsides are the truest aspect of ourselves. We can try to cover ourselves up, but our outsides are always more true than the darkest secrets we carry. For example, I dislike when people look anywhere near me. I hate how I look and no one seems to care about me enough to notice me. That’s what the mirror shows. Because whenever I check, the mirror is blank.
