You assume your identity is-author, poet, bard?

How can you be so certain? Is it a quantified equation?

A pseudonym, and nothing more, just another name you call yourself?

Or perhaps another character, an alter ego, the evil twin or idealized self,

the awful self or awful truth we try to avoid in weaving imaginary tales.

Becoming not the creator but instead the creation,

amassing all the empty pages into stolen sensations

until at last we assume the other character, the

parallel self or the inverted shadow of our imagination-

in our deepest sense, what we wish to be.
