A poem written in long ago.

Too long,

the blanketing frost covered land and hearts,

Stifling Spring's flowered fair

and true love's gentle way of caring.

Too long,

the winter of these years has bound the meadows

and those veldts of mind.

White, cold, crusted layers remain in slumber

and all has surrendered for a time

to it's quiet, damp, stagnation.

Yet,

Spring will soon yield Laurelled valleys,

rosemary hillsides,

and for the heart, roses;

True love's gentle way of caring.
