Here read the dream:

Lister, being pursued by the tiger.

There was between the solitary figures

only a dark, plunging cliff or the poised fangs.

Caught between death on both sides.

Lister asked the Master of Dreams,

invisible and yet present on the side of the road,

yet Lister herself could not dart to the sides,

only forward and behind.

Are these only choices?

Is this the only way down?

"There are no sides," said he.

"It seems you drew the wrong card,

a double negative wherever you choose to turn."

Which way shall you choose to die?

There is only one way down....

And then awoke. Lister dreamed no more.
