Opportunity lost

Hi-ho silver has gone away

Chance has gone with the day

Dillinger fades with the light,

Had a choice, left or right?

Sticking up is a career choice

If only for that damn head-voice

Go left and return to the shore,

Right leads to a new kind of door

The head-voice tells me it’s wrong,

But I dreamed of it all day long

A built-in excuse for wearing a mask,

Becoming a bandit, so easy the task

“This is armed robbery, hands in the air!

Put all valuables in that bag over there!”

Flows like wine and has quite a ring,

Yes, I dearly wish I’d have given it a fling
