Mostly what the Fourth has become

Another July 4th dawns here hot and bright
Keep my eyes peeled for buildings set alight

Misery and soot lit by the rockets red glare,
The drunk and the young who don't f*****g care

This is their time to prove other's correct
That they act like idiot's who barely walk erect

At the mercy of immaturity with bombs away
Watch as their poor judgment turns night into day

Up on innocent rooftops a strange flickering glow,
Emergency packing, quick, get up and go

And what about Fido and Puss, don't they rate?
They don't understand, if they're lucky, drugs to sedate

I wish I could take their magic pill cause the day is here,
A day made for youth, those with no excuse, fueled by beer!

I don't celebrate nationalism. I only love my cats. I got sick of the Trolls on Booksie. I write elsewhere now. About my cats and the impossibility of love. Cheers, Craig.

You may be right about love, Craig, but I'll look a little while longer
