That beautiful, awesome light. My poem.

The light of day,

Is on my face.

I could feel its burning heat.

Its light shine all over the place,

Even upon my feet.

But as night draws nigh,

I give an unpleasant sigh.

I wish the light of day could stay,

Why does it have to go away.

ear John,

I enjoyed your poem. The short lines and regular rhymes give a resonance to your love of the light of day.

I see that you are new to Booksie. Welcome ! I am also fairly new. I see you are open to read requests. I’d really like to read your thoughts on my latest poem, ‘For why this sudden rush of green ?’

I really like spiritual poems about light. But why is the light given? Have fun writing!
