A love lost, a betrayal, and a lost career...what should you do? Go to a mountain to think where the memories can out way the bad so you can just disappear...

This is written for a Flash Fiction Contest based on a beautiful picture.

She had finally done it, gave in and disappeared to the one spot that always felt like home even though it was far from it. Her Granddad used to haul her up to this spot, right outside his cabin. Fishing and hunting were just a few of their activities. Sitting about watching the sun rise and set. Letting all their worries blow away across the mountains. She wished that he was there now. To sit with her. Wipe the tears from her cheeks and soothe her heart. He had gifted it to her out of all the grandkids, absolutely everything that she had constantly wanted.

Staring out over the magnificent vermilion, ocherous, rose, and azure of the sunset fading beyond the mountains. Memories of years gone by flowing through her mind, her heart in a million pieces. Pulling the blue fleece closer to her shoulders, trying to retain the millions of pieces together, as the mountain wind blew through her hair. No makeup, hair down, clothes 3 days old...she sat there trying to procure peace.

How could things have gone from such a positive to the down right negative they currently were? Just a month ago she was the happiest she had been; her career was on the upward path, her most beloved friend by her side, and the most divine woman in her arms. Her cup was running over a hundred folds. Presently after the blackmail and the betrayal, she felt she possessed nothing.

She constantly pondered why things had evolved the way they had, why she felt so isolated, why she was never worthy enough for the people around her. Why when she gave 100% to everyone, she never received it back. She felt that she would be alone forever..
