Navigating heartache and pain.

A Buried Treasure

With each step I take, I feel the sand sifting  through my toes

It’s at that moment a strong gust of wind blows

Now I hear the waves crashing into the shore

Reminding me of these feelings I’ve never felt before

My heart starts to race, from the daunting reality I must face

Because of the duplicitous way you left, which I’d call grand theft, coupled with me caring, is now tearing my heart apart

How do I begin to heal, when I’ve lost my thrill

Feeling like a lonely pawn on the cusp of dawn

I don’t have it in me, to pretend as if I’m happy

Who knew I could hurt to this degree

Introspection is the road back to being healthy

I will find someone kind to remind me of the place I’d rather be

For what I yearn, I have to relearn, what it is about me that brings me pleasure

My heart, lock, and key, hidden away safely, until I’m emotionally ready

Must remain a buried treasure
