Texas is just the beginning

And a small group of men made the rules
Their edict, a backwards in time attitude
more at home in the dark ages than now was
forced upon the people; knowledge shunned,
lessons lost, mistakes repeated, and darkness fell
Shadows covered the enlightenment; fear
ruled with a brutal hand wielded by the few
And the people recognized it too late
Iron gates already barred their way to the light
A cry of outrage fell upon deaf ears, closed minds
"Burn the witches!" echoed down hallowed halls
