A poem about my mentor and best friend Bev who passed in 2012

They say we were crazy..
We really didn't hit it off like 2 bed bugs..
We were opposites..
I really disliked you..
The first time I met you..
It was a bad first impression..
"Decoupage is messy!"
And that sort of became our moto
But that was Ok.. because
You were my mentor, my Gramma..
The woman who saved me..
So I had to return the favor..
I wish I could scream at you now!
You were a con artist..
And raised your own clan..
You were a Bonnie without any Clyde..
Thank god.. some higher power..
Sorta..kept you in check..
Because you were..good!
We kept each others secrets..
Played games..
Held each others hands..
And heads on..
I couldn't hate..
And boy could you forgive!
What a bad combination..
A mix of beauty and beguile..
With just enough brawn..
To make it worth while..
I'll take your.. our secrets to the grave..
Dance for you under every full moon..
And curse you till the day I die..
For giving me all of your heart.
