2021-What a Summer!
By
Brian Lee Clements
After a vacation with my dear friend I was hoping on a quiet summer for a change,
And I thought summer of 2020 was strange
When I got back from Tampa, I had laser surgery on my right eye.
And this time I didn’t even get a stye.
And then a week later I got my Shingles vaccine.
My arm swelled up and made quite the scene.
Then in mid-June, my wife and I filed together for divorce
As our relationship had always been coarse.
All was fine until I received my second Shingles vaccine
When my left eye swelled up and looked like it went through a fight scene.
August came around and was kind of quiet
Had a staycation where I hung out by the pool and was pretty keen
Then September came around and all hell broke loose
When I tested positive for Covid and was mad as a wet goose
Well ten days off now which is par for the course
And on the final day of summer so was the divorce
I hope Fall comes brings for joy in my life
With cool days and no more strife
With a vacation coming in October
I hope the days will be slower
We’ll see what God has in store for me
I’m sure everything he does will be meant to be
