Crash And Burn

Have you found your wings?

Let’s try;

see if together we can fly.

And then in the air,

leaving the ground far behind

as this moment we share.

A whiff of smoke

and those feathers are burning,

we fall through

thickening acrid ash;

the land looms up

and with a final flare of flames

we can only crash and burn.

If you are talking about wings, shoulda drank your Red Bull lol. Kinda like a metaphor of life, where we wish everything in it would be in flight, but in the end, there is always something that will make us crash and burn. Great poetry Hully!
