Ash’kanez—the most powerful human in all of Hen’shomar— is Soul Bound to M’edai—the daughter of his arch enemy—and whatever happens to her also happens to him. It is this insecurity that drives him to break into the palace and kidnap M’edai with the intent to break the Bind but this only serves to anger her father who had been seeking an opportunity against Ash’kanez.

He knows that her death would mean his death so, in defiance, he takes her away while worrying about the possibility of M’edai using this weakness against him and also struggling to come to terms with his failure to obtain all twenty spirit gifts.

Without the twenty spirit gifts pulled together, Ash’kanez knows that he stands no chance at defeating the dreaded force of nature—spoken of by the gods—that was to come but this fact isn’t nearly as dreadful as the discovery of the betrayal that had gone on in his life for years in his attempts to find a way to break the Soul Bind and be free.

About the Author

Saviour Ibok is a Nigerian writer of science fiction and fantasy. Born in Akwa Ibom state, he grew up with passionate longing for sci-fi and fantasy (mainly motivated by the movies and books he had access to while growing) and this drove him to seek to create his own world of fantasy.

When he’s not writing, he practices digital art (though he can only draw doodles) and also dabbles into game development.

Suffice it to say that his love is for creation.
