A narrated rhyming tale of a Sailor and a Tree. Well, that is what I think it's about :)

In a cliff-side graveyard

Stands an old Cypress tree

And it whistles haunting tunes

Whensoever there's a breeze.

They say the tree's haunted

By the Late Captain Sly;

So hideous and gruesome

Is how he did die.

Hung by the gullet,

A fishing gaff was used,

His body then mangled

And greatly abused.

One eye was missing

And an arm cast aside.

His body, way up high,

On the wind left to ride.

Now the Captain stands guard,

A Sentry of a sort,

And watches for strangers

To starboard and Port.

Then he snatches them up

By the use of the wind

And cradles them rightly

Like a trusted old friend.

But that is for show

And not long does that last

For in the Cypress they'll hang

Like sails from a mast.

And as their blood flows

Then falls to the ground

The tree absorbs it

With a strange sucking sound.

And when the bodies are drained

And the bones start to show

Then down fall the corpses

On the grass down below.

But they don't stay there long

For wolves have their sent,

And they are seen in the moonlight,

All snarly and bent.

But what happens next

Is a wonder to the mind

For the wolves aren't just wolves

They are the Mystical kind.

And each body that's devoured

Gives up it's soul

Then the Captain whistles louder

As the wind starts to blow.

A gripping, mystical poem.
The writing is great.
