Sweet Lies

People break promises which hurts a lot,
And then they replace your spot.
When they steal your friends,
To me jealousy, hatred, and sadness you send.

Break a promise and tell all the lies,
Promises made that “you’ll never say goodbye”
But sadly, what reality states,
“Hello, is always accompanied by a goodbye” even for the best of mates.

Break a promise their life becomes one big lie,
Time might not heal but time will just fly.
“No one can replace you” 
How can this even be true?

Break a promise and leave them in pain,
Their worst nightmare and hearts biggest stain,
Want to move on an find a new light,
But couldn’t get you off their mind.

Break a promise and make them pretend-
Pretend their okay, knowing their friendship needs to end.
Give it straight to the heart.
And before you know it the love has part-
 
Now I’m looking for someone true,
To replace you,
Just how you did that to me,
Just so you know how it feels.

…And when that person is found,
Never make a promise again,
Cause there’s a saying,
“Promises are sweet lies”
