You have to accept and respect yourself, before you can accept or respect others . . .

By Al Garcia

You cannot profess to share the heart and trust of anyone

and know you are content with who you are –

blemishes and all,

and until you are willing to embrace

the imperfections and limitations

of someone else without any hesitation.

Beautiful poem! I love how you spaced the lines and where you cut each one off. I always say that the person most worthy of your love is yourself. As the song goes, 'learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all.' :)
