I have been around long enough to see this cake being made time and time again everywhere.

A Dutch oven all nicely heated
A faulty thermostat, unregulated

Bumping elbows between cooks
Reading recipes from their books

All claiming to be a master chef
Arms bruised both right and left

A mighty ladle waves over head
Not one stopped to hear what's said

Too critical of each words dictation
The cooks took it as wrong direction

Each others fault greatly measured
Editing their recipes until reassured

Powdered in white with egg on face
Not one proper cake was made

Badly burned and under cooked
Too busy, the oven overlooked

All stating they did things by the book
The units of measure, that they mistook

Cooks paid well, at a chefs rate
All to blame for the master chef's fate

Nice poem, something profound in it

Thanks! It had a touch of Corona, since the virus made it out in the open, but mostly about politics within its meaning. America is so complex, its imploding by its own weight. No real form of a stable goverment, because each segment wants control. We as American's have no clue as to where we are going, and how its going to play out. At least other countries know what they got for the most part.

Yet I made it to be open, to a reader's perspective, of what ever chaos is around them, even as small as a grade school pantomime.
